About Craig Johnson
Craig Johnson was sworn in as Chief Deputy in August 2017 after he officially stepped down from his post as Justice of the Peace, Precinct 2. His 25 year law enforcement career began with the Wise County Sheriff’s Office in the early 1990s as undercover narcotics under Sheriff Phil Ryan. He then promoted to criminal investigations before his career led him to the Grapevine Police Department where he worked from 1994 until he retired in 2013. In 2014, Craig worked as a private investigator briefly before being named interim Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace. Craig ran for office in the next general election and was elected to a four year term where he served as Justice of the Peace until his appointment as Chief Deputy in August of 2017.
